In his gospel Matthew tells us that when Jesus saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion and said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” Only God can send workers to serve in His harvest field, but He won’t send just anybody to do so. As we consider the task of sending workers into God’s global harvest field with the gospel message of forgiveness from sin through faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross for us, we examine God’s sending requirements found in Isaiah, chapter 6.
